WELCOME TO THE

A Pub with Heritage and Heart

Jo and Richard welcome you to The Tupton Tap!

Nestled in the heart of Chesterfield, Tupton is a village rich in history and character, dating back to its origins as a coal-mining community. Once home to the Tupton Colliery and known for its industrial roots, Tupton has evolved into a charming, close-knit village with a strong sense of identity. Its past is reflected in the architecture, local traditions, and the community spirit that still thrives today.

Come and try our cask selection, including traditional bitters, seasonal brews, and exclusive cask selections. Each cask tells a story—from the choice of hops to the unique flavours imported by the brewing process—making every pint an experience in itself.

Enjoy a drink outside in our beer garden, dogs are welcome both inside and outside and children up until 8pm.

We can cater for special events, please enquire at the bar for more details.

We regularly support charity initiatives; our nominated charities are Ashgate Hospice and Chesterfield Samaritans.

HISTORY OF THE

The Tupton Tap embodies this local heritage. Originally established to serve the hardworking coal miners and villagers, the pub has seen generations pass through its doors. It was a place for camaraderie, shared stories, and a comforting pint after a long day’s work. Over time, as mining faded and Tupton grew into a residential village, the pub remained a steadfast gathering spot, now welcoming families, new residents, and visitors from afar.

Today, the Tupton Tap honors this legacy while offering a modern pub experience. We’re proud to be part of a village with such rich history, where local pride runs deep. From the old beams and stone walls to the friendly, welcoming faces behind the bar, every detail of our pub is a testament to Tupton’s heritage.
